Italian website HD Blog has released a preview video showing a new LG smartphone called the LG Optimus Hub. Which appears to be the successor to the LG Optimus One, an affordable-entry level smartphone and the company’s debut Android handset.
The LG Optimus Hub appears to be the correct name for the LG ‘Univa;’ pictures of which appeared last week on Norwegian website Mobili (see below).
Running Android 2.3.4 the handset is fairy compact with a 3.5-inch 320×480 screen. It’s powered by an 800Mhz processor with 512MB Ram and Adreno 200 graphics chip.
The LG Optimus One was a hugely successful handset for LG and the fastest selling handset for the company, shifting 1 million units in just 40 days.
LG’s tweaked the design slightly, the Optimus Hub has touch sensitive instead of solid Android buttons, however the interface looks similar.
HD Blog states the handset will be around 199 euros (around £171). However the phone market has changed a lots since last year – you can now get the Android touting Vodafone Smart and Orange Stockholm for £75 and £100 respectively.
LG has yet to officially confirm the handset, so there’s no news on when or if this will be coming to UK. We’ll bring you more news as soon as we get it.
