Google has just made it possible for those with an invite to it’s Music Beta service to stream their tunes straight from Safari on iOS 4 devices.
Heading to music.google.com on Safari now will see you prompted to log in with your Google Account. If you’ve been able to sign up for Google Music Beta, then you should be able to access and stream all of the songs you’ve uploaded to this so far.
We’ve had a quick play around with it and can confirm that it works really well. Visually, it’s very similar to the Android app, with a dark blue colour scheme and swipeable tabs for Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists and Genres.
There are the expected shuffle options, pause/play and skip controls and a drag bar that allows you to jump to a certain point in a song.
We couldn’t create any playlists from our iPhone when we tried it out. But the ones we created in desktop Google Music quickly appeared in the Safari window.
As you’d expect it works best over Wi-Fi, with performance over 3G being intermittent and not as fluid. Still, we’ll take what we can get for now until the full version arrives and iCloud hits.
Yeah yeah iCloud. Yeah yeah iOS 5. This is available right now to anyone who has access to Google Music Beta.
