Those of you who have been waiting patiently to get one of the new BlackBerry Torches or the super svelte Curve 9360 rejoice; ye now have a number of dates to jot down in your filofaxes.
The BlackBerry Torch 9860, the one which eschews a Qwerty in favour of a 3.7-inch touchscreen, will be arriving on Monday the 26th 19th of September for those pre-ordering now.
The Torch 9810, which features a slide-out Qwerty tucked ‘neath a 3.2-inch touchscreen and is due a week later on the 3rd of October. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 will also be arriving on the 3rd of October.
Clove is pricing the Torch 9860 at £349.00 and the Torch 9810 at £399.00. The new Curve 9360 is priced at the lower £249.00, fitting in with the Curve mid-range ethos.
All three phones run BlackBerry OS 7, the latest iteration of the OS, and feature the new Liquid Graphics interface. This promises a slicker look that’s equally at home on touch and non-touch BlackBerry phones, providing a more uniform experience between devices.
This is something we’ve definitely seen during our hands on time with these phones; bar variations in general operating speed, the overall experience is more or less the same on the Torch 9810 as it is on the Curve 9360.
Update: Clove got back to us to reiterate that the release date for the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is actually Monday the 19th of September. We’ve updated the piece accordingly.
