Nokia’s Damian Dinning has been discussing some future features that will be specific to Nokia’s N8- and its much-lauded 12-megapixel camera.
It looks set to be an N8-specific upgrade, and will bring a constant auto-focus mode and increase HD video-recording to 30 frames per second on the ageing smartphone.
Constant auto-focus is a particularly nice touch, though there are no specifics as to whether this will be video, stills, or both.
According to Phone Arena, a lot of these features have already existed in unofficial hacks, though it will be welcome news those that have recently bought the N8; the phone has seen its price slashed in recent months, especially on long-term monthly contracts.
Symbian Anna could be Nokia’s final hurrah in the smartphone market before it switches across to Windows Phone 7. The refresh gives the interface a new lick of paint alongside some minor features like a vertical touch keyboard, Ovi Maps Nokia Maps improvements and more.
Apple has also recently announced upgrades to auto-focus features on its own iPhone camera, embedded into iOS 5.
