Is this the PSP Phone? Sony Ericsson Z1 caught on video in Greece

Another video of another rumoured next-gen Android phone. This time it’s a video of the Sony Ericsson Z1, which may or may not be the PSP Phone.

The phone, which resembles the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, features a 4-inch touchscreen and apparently runs on Android 2.3. The camera is apparently an 8-megapixel effort and comes with an LED flash, like the Xperia X10.

The Greek site Techblog.gr, which uploaded the video, however suggests that this might not be the PSP Phone and instead could be a forerunner of it:

“Sony [will be] preparing its own Application Store with Games for Sony Ericsson Z1 and any other mobile PSP [could] follow after that.” [Translated via Google Translate].

If this is the case we could see a run of gaming phones bearing the Z tag, just as the Walkman series phones followed a W naming trend. We noticed that there’s no slide-out keyboard action in this video which is disappointing. But if this is the first in a series of gaming phones maybe the Sony Ericsson Z2 or whatever will come with a slide out gaming pad.

We contacted Sony Ericsson to comment further but they declined.
