10-year-old caught driving parent’s car, says he’s ‘a dwarf who forgot his driver’s licence’

Boy who stole his parent’s car and drove him and his sister into a ditch told police he was ‘a dwarf who had forgotten his driver’s licence’.

A particularly adventurous 10-year-old who drove himself and his 18-month-old sister for six miles in his parent’s car swerved off a snow-covered road and crashed into a ditch, it has been reported. When he was found by police, he announced he was a dwarf who had forgotten his driver’s licence.

Miraculously, the boy and his sibling were not injured, and the parents will not be facing any charges.

“The parents woke up and discovered that the children were missing and that someone had taken off with their car,” Vestoppland police officer Baard Christiansen said. “They were pretty upset, as you can imagine.”

“I’m pretty sure they’re going to pay very close attention both to their children and to their car keys in the future,” the officer added.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a Canadian boy stole his grandmother’s car and attempted to cross the US border. He had driven for around 12.5 miles, which included driving down a motorway, before he was spotted by US Border Patrol.

Do you think more should be done to keep children away from cars and potential situations like this one? Should they be exposed to driving games at a young age? Let us know by dropping a comment below.
