Audi A5 and S5: Coupe and Sportback prices revealed

Say hello to the new Audi A5 and S5, which offer a host of technological improvements and revised looks from £30,700.

The Audi A5 and S5 can be had in Coupe and Sportback versions in one of three trim levels comprised the entry-level S, SE and top-spec S line.

There are three TDI diesel and two TFSI petrol engines to choose between, the cheapest of which is the 2.0-litre TFSI with 190PS and a six-speed manual gearbox. A pricier 252PS version comes with quattro all-wheel drive and takes 5.8 seconds to go from 0-62mph.

Audi claims the 252PS TFSI and its 370Nm of torque can manage up to 47.9mpg combined while emitting 136g/km of CO2.

Atop the diesel tree is a V6 TDI with 286PS that can hit 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds and is electronically limited to 155mph. CO2 and fuel economy come in at 119g/km and 58.9mpg.

The sporty S5’s V6 TFSI petrol delivers 354PS and 500Nm from 1,370rpm, helping it achieve a 4.7-second 0-62mph time. Top speed is also 155mph, while CO2 and fuel economy come are 170g/km and 38.2mpg, respectively.

SE cars offer 17-inch alloys, xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, three-zone climate control and, in the case of the Sportback, a power-operated tailgate.

Sport adds LED interior lighting, electrically adjustable sports seats with four-way lumbar support in leather, SD card-based navigation and three months of Audi Connect for free.

S line gets bigger 18-inch alloys, sport suspension, LED front and rear lights and front sports seats in leather and Alcantara among other nice extras.

For the S5 Coupe and S5 Sportback, expect partly polished 19-inch alloys, quad oval tailpipes, S5 logos, S sport suspension, specially tuned brakes, Fine Nappa leather on the S super sport seats and MMI navigation.

The Misano red and Navarra blue paintjobs are unique to the S5. Meanwhile a sport differential can be specced for those who want more torque sent to the rear wheels to improve cornering potential, or you can have a better audio sound with the Bang & Olufsen 3D Surround option.

Prices start from £30,700 for the 2.0 TFSI Coupe SE and £33,050 for the 2.0 TDI ultra. As for the S5, expect to part with £47,000 for both the Coupe and Sportback. The Coupe model is available now and the Sportback will arrive in February 2017.
