Audi drivers the most likely to cheat on their partner

Audi drivers are the most likely to have illicit extra-marital affairs, it has been claimed. Peugeot drivers, on the other hand, are the most likely to stay faithful, which makes sense as we’ve never seen anyone get lucky in a Pug.

IllicitEncounters.com, a dating Web site for married people, found that a staggering 22.2 per cent of its 750,000-strong membership drives an Audi. Mercedes-Benz owners accounted for 8.7 per cent of its ranks, Volvo 7.6 per cent and Volkswagen 5.7 per cent, suggesting German and Swedish car owners are also prone to playing away.

In contrast, just 0.4 per cent of the site’s membership drive a Peugeot. Indicating something of a trend among French cars, Renault drivers emerged as the second least likely to cheat, making up just 0.5 per cent of the site’s membership.

Skoda and Hyundai rounded off the least likely to cheat on their partner list, with 1.1 per cent and 1.6 per cent, respectively.

“Cars can reveal a lot about their owners,” Illicit Encounters spokesman Mike Taylor explained. “All the cars in the top five represent our members – they are typically successful, motivated, high-achievers who are less likely to settle for something they find unsatisfying, be it a car or a relationship.”

The survey also found 72 per cent of its membership were likely to change their car every three years, with only 7 per cent of members driving around in a car more than five years old.
