Jeep has decided to spruce up its terrain-conquering Cherokee range with a new, limited edition version known as the ‘Night Eagle’.
The Jeep Cherokee Night Eagle is based on the mid-level Longitude Plus and features various moody styling cues, including satin grey fog light frames, gloss black roof bars, 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels and a ‘deep tint’ for the sunscreen glass.
Meanwhile the interior comes with a leather steering wheel, ‘exclusive leather upholstery’, Fiat’s Uconnect infotainment navigation system with an 8.4-inch display and heated front seats with electric lumbar adjustment for the driver.
Other standard equipment includes a nine-speaker sound system with a subwoofer for more bass, cruise control, electric tailgate, rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding mirrors and dual-zone climate control.
The Night Eagle is powered by the new 2.2-litre MultiJet II turbodiesel, which delivers 200hp and is mated to a nine-speed automatic and an Active Drive 4×4 system. 0-62mph takes 8.5 seconds, while the top speed is 127mph. Fuel economy is said to be 49.6mpg.
Four paintjobs will be available: Brilliant Black, Bright White, Billet Silver and Granite Crystal.
Fiat Chrysler says the Jeep Cherokee Night Eagle will be limited to just 350 examples in the UK and will go on sale ‘later this week’, starting from £36,795.
