Mazda 2 Colour editions offer more bang for buck

Mazda2 Colour and Sport Colour Edition add styling and equipment improvements.

Two new versions of the Mazda Mazda2 have been announced. The Colour Edition and Sport Colour Edition offer ‘stand out’ looks, a more generous standard specification sheet and are on sale now.

The Colour Edition benefits from a number of aesthetic improvements such three new exterior colours to choose from and colour-coded interior detailing. A unique numbered sticker on the dashboard indicates which of the 1,000 production run the car is.

11 items of additional equipment make the Mazda 2 Colour Edition better equipped than the SE Air Con model, including 15-inch dark grey alloys, privacy glass for keeping prying eyes at bay and Jet Black on the mirror housings and rear spoiler. There’s also a leather steering wheel, Parrot Bluetooth hands-free kit and body-coloured door trim.

The pricier Sport Colour Edition adds 16-inch dark grey alloy wheels, sports headlamps, front fog lights, sports styling kit, 6.1-inch Mazda Navigation System with Bluetooth, leather gear knob, two additional speakers, side and curtain airbags and a trip computer.

Power comes from a 1.3-litre 75PS (74bhp) petrol engine for the Colour Edition and a more powerful 1.3-litre 85PS (84bhp) petrol engine for the Sport Colour Edition.

“With production of these new models limited to 1,000 units and each car carrying its own unique number, I’m sure our latest Mazda2 derivatives will prove immensely popular,” Mazda UK sales director Peter Allibon commented.

The Mazda 2 Colour Edition and Sport Colour Edition is priced from £11,745 and £12,845, respectively.
