Rolls-Royce has just made a ridiculously expensive hamper

Not quite able to afford a Rolls-Royce? You could always buy a limited edition cocktail hamper that costs the same as a hot-hatch.

The Rolls-Royce Cocktail Hamper was ‘conceived to meet the needs of customers who wish to relax and enjoy something a little beyond the traditional glass of champagne’.

Rolls-Royce accessories designer Sina Maria Eggl is behind the design, with a little help from the Dorchester Collection’s London Hotels, The Dorchester and 45 Park Lane, to ensure it’s up to the job of making cocktails.

Each item in the case is bespoke and handmade, including the four handmade tumblers, four handmade decanters, cocktail shaker, ice bucket, ice tongs, bottle opener, knife, napkins, two food containers, chopping board, crusher, atomiser and strainer.

As the price suggests, the attention to detail and level of luxury is king. The paring knife, for instance, ‘is magnetically housed in a recess hewn into the American Walnut structure’, while the hamper itself is made from the finest Natural Grain Leather used in some Rolls-Royce cars.

Then there is the glassware, which is made by Europe’s most revered glassmaker, Theresienthal. The glasses take one month alone to make and no two are ever the same, owing to their handmade nature. Meanwhile each hamper takes eight weeks to make.

Suffice to say, there’s absolutely everything you need to make a cocktail. Or, more likely, everything your butler needs to make you a cocktail.

Just 15 will be sold, each one priced at £26,366 before local taxes. Suddenly that bottle of bubbly seems incredibly cheap.

In case you missed it, here’s our review of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.
