Skoda goes all Batman on us with Black Editions

Black must be the new Black for Skoda because it has just announced eight new limited edition models in one fell swoop. A more generous spec and stealthy looks separate the Black Edition from its counterparts.

The Skoda Black Edition is based on the mid-level SE trim and bestows each model at least £1,200 of ‘desirable’ optional extras. There is, in fact, an additional £3,200 of extras fin the case of the Superb.

Black Edition standard equipment includes black alloy wheels, DAB digital radio, ‘Arumndsen’ sat-nav, full leather upholstery, cruise control, floor mats and metallic/pearl effect paint. There are also model-specific exterior styling enhancements such as tinted rear windows. The exact spec varies between models.

The Black Edition is, rather confusingly, also available in white for all models except the Citigo, Roomster and Rapid in case you really want to be noticed.

“The Black Edition cars further enhance the cutting-edge contemporary style to the entire range of ŠKODA passenger cars, yet still have our core philosophy of value-for-money motoring at their centre,” Skoda brand director Alasdair Stewart commented.

Wall of prices incoming: The Skoda Citigo Black Edition starts from £10,090, Fabia Black Edition from £15,490 and Roomster Black Edition from £15,490, Rapid Black Edition from £16,880, Rapid Spaceback from £18,250, Octavia Black Edition from £21,685, Superb Black Edition from £23,660 and Yeti Black Edition from £23,990. Got all that?

Skoda says the Black Editions are available now so trot over to a dealship to register your interest, if you are so inclined.
