Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept hints at an entry-level saloon

Subaru has unveiled the Impreza Sedan Concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and in doing so has given us a glimpse of an entry-level model.

The Impreza Sedan Concept is first of its ‘next-generation strategic vehicles’ and is positioned as ‘an entry model in the Subaru lineup’ that hints at the design direction of the new Impreza and any future models.

It measures 4,555mm in length, 1,880mm in width and 1,453mm in height so it’s a tad bigger than the current Impreza hatchback and is designed to seat five people, while the wheelbase is 2,670mm.

Subaru says the design embodies ‘enjoyment and peace of mind’, adding that it offers ‘excellent aerodynamic performance’. Its exterior colour, Ruby Red Metallic, is meant to express ‘sporty and energetic impression’.

The front end features a wide and low stance, Subaru’s hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights. At the back are extended fender flares, which are said to ‘express the reliability of Subaru All-Wheel Drive’.

The latest Impreza concept follows in the footsteps of the concept hatchback unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. With few other details to go on, you will just have to settle for the only two official press shots.
