The best cars of 2015

Recombu Cars gives the lowdown on the very best cars of 2015, including the best performance car, best luxury car, best family car and best car manufacturer.

Recombu held its annual award ceremony in central London, where we crowned the finest cars of the year — vehicles so epic they were dwarfed only by the our partygoers’ hangovers the follwoing morning.

Taking home Best Luxury Car was the BMW 7 Series, a car rammed with clever technologies such as a gesture-controlled stereo, touchscreen key and an Android tablet in the back to keep the kids amused.

Bettering its Mercedes S-Class and Bentley Mulsanne rivals was no easy feat but overall its handling and comfort proved too hard to resist, especially at £63,750 – reasonable money for something with such incredible engineering and technology.

Although Bentley missed out on winning the luxury award, it took home Best Performance Car for the Continental GT Speed, which offers a staggering 206mph top speed and blistering acceleration without sacrificing comfort.

On a track it would never hold a candle to other nominees such as the McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911 GTS, but no other car in 2015 offered such a potent mix of performance and luxury.

The Best Family Car award went to the Hyundai Tucson. Its combination of excellent value for money, efficiency, stylish looks and practicality made it a Nissan Qashqai-beater.

Our last award was voted by Recombu Cars readers and you told us the Best Car Manufacturer was Ford, citing the Mondeo as great value for money, including excellent safety and technology. Jaguar Land Rover came a close second.
