Toyota has announced a special edition version of its rear-wheel drive, affordable sports car. The GT86 Blanco will go on sale from the 1st of July 2015.
The Toyota GT86 has been, like other special editions, blessed a few unique extras absent from the standard car. For instance, it has a GT White Pearl paintjob with contrasting red and grey body decals for added bling.
It also comes with GT86-embossed 18-inch 10-spoke wheels finished in anthracite, as well as full leather upholstery, heated front seats and a unique numbered plaque indicating which car of the limited batch you own.
Sadly the JBL nine-speaker package and Toyota’s Touch and Go touchscreen infotainment system with navigation will set you back a few extra quid, which means the £3,500 is a tad hard to justify, especially when it has the same 2.0-litre, 200hp boxer petrol.
Yes, the GT86 Blanco will set you back a cool £28,500, which is nearly Golf R and Civic Type R money, but then this is one of the most fun 2+2 sports cars around so you will probably sleep well at night if you take the plunge. Just don’t expect earth-shattering pace if the allure of rear-wheel drive proves too much.
Deliveries are expected from the 1st of August so chuck in an order now for a bit of summer hooliganism. Check out our Toyota GT86 review for our verdict.
