Fibre GarDen superfast rural broadband plan holds out for more offers

Superfast rural broadband project Fibre GarDen has had to extend the deadline on its invitation to tender, because of overwhelming interest.

The plucky rural community broadband project has been inundated with bids from interested partners and so has decided to extend its invitation to tender deadline by two weeks. The earliest we’ll get to hear about who Fibre GarDen has selected to connect the dales to 100Mbps broadband is at the end of the month.

Again, there’s no word on who are the frontrunners or what kinds of bids have been made. Fibre GarDen’s Tony Roberts says via a blog post that those who’ve already applied should “consider that the additional time permits you to create the most competitive solutions,” adding that the invitation to tender will close at midnight on April 28th.

Fibre GarDen’s aims to have 100Mbps broadband available across Gardale and Dentdale by Christmas.
