How can I stream or watch The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead shuffles back onto our screens at 9pm tonight. Here’s how you can feast on your eyes on all of the new brains episodes. 

The Walking Dead is broadcast by Fox in the UK, which is available from a number of pay TV providers. We’ve ranked all of the options in terms of price and availability. 

How can I watch The Walking Dead season 6?

Now TV lets you stream programmes from pay TV channels – including Fox – in real time. You can also access shows on a catch-up basis. 

Now TV requires Microsoft Silverlight to run and can be streamed online through the majority of browsers, with the exception of Chrome, which no longer supports Silverlight

If you’re not streaming on your desktop there’s Now TV apps for iOS and Android; these are both Chromecast-compatible as well, meaning you can watch The Walking Dead on your TV without needing a fancy pay TV package. 

There’s also the Now TV Box (2015 edition) which costs £15. This mini Apple TV-lookalike is in fact a reskinned Roku box. It plugs into your TV via HDMI and lets you access all of the Now TV content on offer, along with other things like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and Demand 5. 

Now TV apps are also available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the majority of LG smart TVs. 

Now TV Entertainment passes last for 30 days and you can cancel at any time. 

Sky+ 

Fox is one of the channels included as standard with all Sky TV packages. Sky’s Original TV Bundle is currently priced at £20/month, plus a £10 set-up cost. 

The basic Sky+HD box, which comes with a 500GB hard drive (185 hours of SD content, 60 hours of HD content) is currently included free with all Sky TV packages. 

Alternatively, you can get a Sky+HD box with a 2TB drive for £249; this gives you room for 1180 hours of SD content and 350 hours of HD content. 

Standard Sky TV contracts are 12 months long. 

Virgin TV 

Fox is included with all Virgin TV bundles from M+ and above. 

Virgin TV M+ can be taken on its own for £22.50/month or as part of a TV and weekend UK landline calls bundle for £15/month plus £17.99/month for Virgin Phone line rental, for a grand total of £32.99/month. 

A 500GB Virgin Media TiVo set-top box is included with Virgin TV M+. This lets you record up to 250 hours of SD content and 50 hours of HD. 

You can opt for a bigger 1TB TiVo box which sees you paying the same every month, but stumping up a £49.95 one-off fee.

All Virgin TV contracts are typically 12 months long. 

Sky Q

Currently only available to new and existing Sky Broadband customers (everyone else, head here to register interest) Sky Q packages start at £42/month and set-up fees begin at £99.

Sky Q contracts are 18 months long as standard. 

TalkTalk TV 

Fox is included with both the Entertainment Boost (£5/month) and Entertainment Extra Boost (£10/month) on top of a TalkTalk TV bundle. 

TalkTalk TV starts at £10/month for the Essentials TV bundle (which is currently half price for 12 months) plus £17.70/month for line rental at the standard rate. 

This bundle includes an unlimited up to 17Mbps ADSL broadband service (with no traffic shaping) and evening and weekend calls to UK landlines.

TalkTalk TV contracts are typically 18 months long. 

Can I get Fox on Freeview, Freesat or BT TV?

Fox isn’t currently available with any of the BT TV channel packages and as it’s a pay TV channel, it’s not available on Freeview or Freesat.
