Lovefilm has announced that it’s collared the first season of Copper, a gritty crime series set in 1860’s New York City.
Starring Tom Weston-Jones of Spooks fame, Copper follows police detective Kevin Corcoran as he cracks cases while trying to discover the whereabouts of his wife and who killed his daughter.
From the mean streets of the Five Points, arguably made famous by Gangs of New York, to the glitzy high society of Fifth Avenue, Copper offers a snapshot of post Civil War America with themes of racial and social tension providing a backdrop to Irish immigrant Corcoran’s personal quest.
