Netflix starts hitting TalkTalk TV in time for House of Cards season 3

Netflix has started rolling out to TalkTalk TV boxes up and down the land.

Shows including Orange Is The New Black, American Horror Story and newcomer Marco Polo can be streamed alongside catch-up content from BBC iPlayer, 4oD, Demand 5 and ITV Player.

A phased rollout begins today, with all 1.2 million TalkTalk TV boxes due to get Netflix by the end of January.

Bill Holmes, global head of business developmen at, Netflix, said: “By partnering with TalkTalk we’re making it even easier for many TV fans and movie lovers in Britain to watch Netflix on their television screens.”

The update also arrives as Netflix announces February 27 as the launch date for the third season of House of Cards. In the meantime, TalkTalk TV customers with a Netflix subscription (£5.99/month) can catch up with the first two seasons now.

TalkTalk TV customers can further augment their regular Essentials (£8.50) and Plus (£18.50) TV packages (plus line rental) with extra channels in the form of Boosts.

Boosts range from £5/month packages such as the Kids Boost and the Music Boosts. These give you channels including Cartoon Network and MTV. Premium Boosts like Sky Sports (£30/month) and Sky Movies (£16/month) give you access to Sky Sports 1-5 and Sky Sports F1 and all 11 Sky Movies channels respectively.

TalkTalk Boosts aren’t long term commitments and can be chopped and changed on a monthly basis.

While finally getting Netflix weeks after BT TV and regular YouView customers could get it, TalkTalk TV customers still can’t get BBC Connected Red Button. Spokespeople and sources haven’t been able to confirm an ETA for this.

Update: Contrary to what we were told originally by TalkTalk spokespeople the rollout will include Connected Red Button. Customers who registered for updates with TalkTalk will be first in line to receive the update which include Netflix, Connected Red Button and expands the BBC iPlayer catch up window from seven days to 30.
