Sky Go to unveil new look plus Extra downloads for Multiroom users

Sky Go will unveil a new look and feel across smartphones, tablets and Xbox 360 this summer.

The enhanced Sky Go Extra service – normally £5 a month – will also be free to Sky Multiroom subscribers from early July.

The new-look phone and tablet app will be designed to make it easier to find your favourite shows, with bigger thumbnail images in the On Demand library.

Read Recombu Digital’s guide to Sky Go“We’re making it easier to find something great to watch when out and about and at the same time giving our customers even more choice about different screens to watch on,” said Sky’s Luke Bradley-Jones, director of TV products.

“It’s all part of our commitment to offer the best TV and the best ways to watch, giving our customers even more choice and flexibility from their Sky TV.”

The Xbox 360 upgrade will make Sky Go fit in with the latest Microsoft Dashboard design, similar to the Metro interface for Windows Phone and Windows 8.

Sky Multiroom subscribers, with Sky Go Extra included, will be able to download movies and TV shows to their laptop, phone or tablet for up to 30 days, and to use Sky Go on up to four devices instead of the standard two devices.
