Sky will get exclusive first showings for Paramount films including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Sky Movies will get the vital ‘First Pay TV’ window around eight months after films are released in the cinemas, lasting up to a year before anyone else can show the films.
An existing Paramount deal already gives Sky the lock-in on forthcoming titles such as Noah, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, so they won’t appear on rivals like Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies and acquisitions, said: “We’re delighted to be extending our long-standing partnership with Paramount.
“This is just the latest example of us giving Sky Movies customers the biggest and best movies to watch, how and when they want.”
Alongside the new releases, Sky Movies customers will also have access to a wide selection of classic movies from Paramount Pictures’ extensive film library, including all the Star Trek movies, The Godfather trilogy, Forrest Gump and Top Gun.
The movies will be available through Sky’s On Demand service as well as via 11 dedicated Sky Movies channels. All the movies will also be available on Sky’s award-winning mobile TV service, Sky Go, for customers who wish to watch them on multiple devices, in and out of the home.
In addition, the titles included in the agreement will be available via the Sky Movies monthly pass on Now TV. Customers who subscribe to Sky Movies via Virgin Media, UPC, TalkTalk and BT TV will also be able to enjoy the full range of subscription movies from Paramount Pictures.
