Virgin TV Anywhere for Android enabled for LG G3 in time for Sky channel launches

Virgin Media’s TV Anywhere catch-up service is now available on over 30 Android devices from the five-star LG G3 to the budget-friendly EE Kestrel

The latest update to Virgin’s streaming service also coincides with the launch of seven Sky channels – Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky Living, Sky Living It, Sky Arts 1, Sky News and Sky Sports News – on TV Anywhere.

Amazon Kindle Fire tablets from the second-gen Kindle Fire HD 7 to 2013 Kindle Fire HDX‘s can also download the app from Google Play.

The streaming service that lets Virgin TV subscribers watch their TV shows on the go is now available to use on over 130 Android phones and tablets.

It’s worth mentioning that by ‘enabled’, Virgin Media means that you’ll be able to download the TV Anywhere app on Google Play on these following devices, install the app and use it. The devices are not 100 per cent fully supported, as Virgin Media hasn’t (and isn’t) able to test out TV Anywhere. Devices that are enabled are however considered to be solid enough to run TV Anywhere without breaking a sweat.

As well as letting you stream TV shows on your phone or tablet, TV Anywhere also lets you set and delete recordings on your TiVo box as well as see what’s on TV and change series links, if you’ve mistakenly set a recording for Utopia on regular Channel 4 and not Channel 4 HD (what were you thinking?).

Older phones and tablets that aren’t up to the job of streaming TV can still download Virgin TV Anywhere from Google Play and make use of the TiVo remote management features. These devices are:

HTC Desire X Samsung Galaxy Ace Sony Xperia U
Motorola RAZRi (XT890) Samsung Galaxy Fame S ZTE Blade III
Motorola RAZRi (XT890i) Sony Xperia L Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

Virgin TV Anywhere is now available on 137 devices – 73 phones and 64 tablets – in some form or other. You can download it for free from Google Play now.
