The Cloud, the public WiFi network owned by Sky, has launched a new voucher scheme to tempt high street ramblers with coupons for Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Users of the Cloud’s FastConnect WiFi app will also be able to see offers for nearby Krispy Kreme venues on their iOS and Android phones.
Judith Denby, Chief Marketing Officer from Krispy Kreme UK, which deployed The Cloud’s WiFi back in 2009 says:
“Since we rolled out The Cloud’s WiFi we’ve noticed the positive impact it’s had on customer engagement and satisfaction at our venues. Now we want to explore ways of using it to reach people outside our venues but still close enough to be attracted by promotions.

Read Recombu Digital’s guide to The Cloud, Sky’s public WiFi network“The amount of time people spend looking at their phones when they’re on the high street is considerable and this new service on The Cloud’s network is about tapping into that.”
FastConnect lets you connect to Cloud hotspots quickly after a one-time set-up process. This takes the hassle out of having to check the WiFi settings on your phone or tablet every time you want to connect and now you’ll be able to get offers on glazed goodness as well.
For those with less of a sweet tooth, it’s worth noting that The Cloud has also done similar voucher deals with Orchid Pub Group and Spirit Pub Group aimed at patrons more likely to reach for a pint than a packet of doughnuts.
The Cloud is looking at launching similar ventures with its other partners, so expect to hear of deals done with Schuh, Superdrug and Punch Taverns pubs.
You can download FastConnect for iOS here and Android here.
