Amazon’s Fire phone an O2 exclusive in the UK

Finally, the Amazon Fire phone – with its wacky 3D interface and live tech support – is coming to the UK on September 30th, exclusively to O2.

Amazon’s first ever smrtphone is a peculiar beast, packing six forward-facing cameras for glasses-free 3D visuals and all manner of unique features, including the Mayday service for those in desperate need of tech support. Now, three months after its US launch, the Amazon Fire Phone is finally hitting the UK at the end of September, as an O2 exclusive.

The Amazon Fire will cost you absolutely nothing on a £33 ‘O2 Refresh’ tariff with 2GB of data, and you can pre-order it right now on the O2 website. If you bag yourself a Fire before the year’s end, you’ll even get a full year of Amazon Prime chucked in for free. Existing Prime members will have the free year added to their current subscription.

Customers can grab the Amazon Fire phone in either 32GB or 64GB flavours. The Fire also packs in a 4.7-inch HD screen, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 4G support.

And if you’re always clutching your phone and muttering ‘how the hell do I do this’, Amazon’s MayDay service will please. With the tap of a button, you can connect with a live Amazon assistant in almost no time at all, to sort out any query you might have. Or just have a bit of a chat, if you’re feeling lonely. They’re lovely people.

We’ll bring you a full Amazon Fire review soon, but for now check out our hands-on review for our full first impressions.
