The latest Nexus 7 is definitely the budget tablet to beat right now, but a reduced cost LG G Pad 8.3 is the next best thing. Asda Direct is currently selling LG’s slate for £229 after you apply a £20 off voucher at checkout. The regular price is £249, but punching in “tab20” will get you the deal.
Specs for the G Pad 8.3 include an 8.3-inch 1920×1200 IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (plus a microSD card slot), and a 5-megapixel camera. We’re still in the process of reviewing the tablet, but so far it seems to be a tempting alternative to the Nexus 7.
