HP TouchPad update lands

HP has introduced a new update to the TouchPad tablet: HP webOS 3.0.2, bringing ‘performance and reliability enhancements and adding improved functionality to several apps’

The over-the-air update is available by clicking Launcher – Settings – Updates. The download takes around 15 minutes, although the battery needs to be 50% full in order for you to install the update.

We downloaded the update earlier and the difference is really obvious. It just feels really quick
When you rotate the tablet the screen swaps nearly instantly. When typing the auto correct is really quick, instantly correcting as you are composing an email.

Along with improved performance, system stability and bug fixing update webOS 3.0.2 brings the following updates:
Calendar:  Quicker Just Type event search and event creation
Improved handling of meeting cancellations

Email: Faster scrolling
Improved message content and image display
Improved management of multiple emails in Draft and Outbox views

Music: Reduced audio skipping when the device is running other applications
Better display of album art

Photos & Videos:  Added ability to set wallpapers
Faster and more reliable handling of individual photos and albums


Text Assist: Improved speed and accuracy of auto-corrections


Web:  Increased scrolling support compatibility within web pages
Improved performance of remote HTML5 video playback
Improved responsiveness of auto correction within the browser
