HTC Windows 7 Phones to get Beats Audio

Android fans aren’t the only smartphone users who’ll be rockin’ with the D-R-E, according to HTC. While details are sketchy, the company has confirmed to tech bloggers Slashgear that it is working with Beats to bring the audio-boosting mobile tech and slick black-and-red colour scheme to its Windows Phone 7 handsets sometime in the future.

The first handset in the partnership between HTC and Beats By Dr. Dre will be the Sensation XE, dropping like it’s hot as a Phones 4u exclusive on October 1st in the UK. Essentially a souped-up HTC Sensation, the XE model boosts the processor speed from 1.2GHz to 1.5GHz, as well as cramming in that mysterious Beats audio wizardry that Phones 4u claim “makes everything sound, well, just better.” Also bundled with the handset are a pair of branded Beats earphones – the first bundled earphones we might actually consider hanging onto.

There’s no word on which of the HTC Windows Phone 7 stable might be getting the Beats upgrade, or whether we might be in store for a rap-tastic new smartphone altogether. More when we hear it, y’all.
