LG Optimus 2X: Out now in Korea, coming soon in white.

The first ever dual-core phone is out. In Korea. So while we wait until sometime in the middle of March, we’ll have to make do with pictures of token smiling-girls-holding-phones, bombastic adverts with robot hawks, and news that the phone is set to come with a white version in the near-future.

No confirmation on whether it’ll be an all-over white jobbie, or exchangeable backings like those promised for the  multi-coloured Optimus Black.

Penned for a February release, it wouldn’t be a massive shock if a white Optimus 2X got to these shores before a white iPhone.

The Optimus 2X will be the world’s first dual-core phone, meaning two processors to do double the work;  faster loading webpages, video and more. But it will soon face stiff competition from another dual-core phone, the Motorola Atrix, rumoured for release not long after.

We’ll be updating you when some initial thoughts and reviews pop up over in Korea, and hope to get our hands on the dual-core beast next month.

UPDATE: Some of the promo pictures are showing a white-fronted Optimus 2X.
