Motorola Defy+ heading to Europe in the Autumn

As well as something or other about doing a deal with Google, Motorola has gone and announced that the Motorola Defy+ will be heading over to Europe this autumn. The ruggedised phone will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 3.7-inch screen as it was rumoured to and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash.

Like Samsung’s Galaxy S Plus that we got to play with last week, the Defy+ is basically a rebooting of last year’s successful Defy with a faster processor. The chip inside the Defy+ is a 1GHz jobbie which Motorola says makes everything run 25 per cent quicker than the previous Defy. Good news, as the one area where we felt the Defy could do with some improvement on was speed.

As you’d expect the Defy+ is water and scratch resistant, dust proofed and that 3.7-inch screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Other specs for the Defy+ include 2GB of storage (expandable up to 32GB with microSD), Adobe Flash Player 10 pre-installed along with the neat Zinio magazine reader app that we’re rather fond of.

No great or revealing press shots of the Defy+ yet, but we imagine it’ll look much like the original one. We’ll keep you posted about availability and let you know when our review unit comes in.
