Samsung Ace Plus Preview

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is a mid-range Android-powered phone that builds on the success of last year’s Samsung Galaxy Ace phone. Coming with a 3.65-inch 480 x 320 HVGA display and a 5-megapixel camera, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus offers a solid, if not cutting edge, experience.

The screen, although not the sharpest out there, ought to be big enough to allow for easy web browsing, use of Google Maps and playing games downloaded from the Android Market.

Again, the 1GHz CPU and the 512MB of RAM will more than suffice for handling everyday phone tasks like browsing the web and checking emails smoothly, but it means that some higher-end apps and games might not work on the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus.

As well as the standard Google apps and services including Search, YouTube, Gmail and the aforementioned Maps and Market, you also get a brace of Samsung apps and features installed. These include the ChatON instant message service (Samsung’s answer to BBM) Social Hub (aggregated Facebook and Twitter) and TouchWiz, Samsung’s custom user interface.

MP3 and AAC music files are supported and you get 3GB of on-board storage to use, with the option to expand this further (up to 32GB) with a microSD memory card.

If it’s anything like the Samsung Galaxy Ace from last year we expect the pricing of this phone to be pretty attractive; stay tuned for exact pricing and release dates as and when we hear about them.
