Samsung Galaxy Pro: What’s in the box?

The Galaxy Pro is one of the many additions to Samsung’s Galaxy range of Android phones to hit the shelves this year, one that comes sporting a big-ish Qwerty keypad front and centre. Available to order from Three now on a handful of low-priced plans, the Galaxy Pro seems sure to appeal to those who want a phone with a Qwerty but fancy a bit of Android action thrown in.

Those vital stats: you get a 2.8-inch LQVGA touchscreen, a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus (but no flash) and Android 2.2 Froyo. 3G (HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps) and Wi-Fi is included (as you’d expect) as it GPS for navigation options.

There’s a micro SD card slot underneath the battery cover for memory expansion. A must, as the internal memory weighs in at a sprightly 160MB. The Samsung Galaxy Pro is can handle 32GB sized cards, like most Android phones these days, so you’re all sorted on that front; a 2GB card came bunged with our review model but there’s always the option to add more if you need it.

Before we plough on with our full review we’ve given the Samsung Galaxy Pro the usual WITB? ransacking, giving you a glimpse of how it all shapes up.

Along with the aforementioned 2GB card, you pretty much just get the standard mains adapter, USB wire and paperwork in the box, as well as a small-to-big micro SD-to-SD adapter.

So while we get on with reviewing the Galaxy Pro, why not take a quick look-see?

You get a four-row Qwerty with the four usual Android keys sitting in a neat little row above. All the keys have a thick, rubbery feel and feel suitably chunky, despite their smallish size.

On the back you’ve got the same design Samsung’s been using for the majority of its Android phones; square lens cover for the camera, a textured back with a curved lip at the bottom. No SIM card was included in the box, but we’ve left one here for size comparison.

All the connections and other controls are up top; volume rocker on the left hand side, micro USB connection protected by a sliding dust cover, 3.5mm audio jack. Round the corner on the right sits the power button.

Along with the regular USB cable and mains adapter, Samsung has bunged in a 2GB card along with a microSD adapter. Useful if you want to get some pics or something off of your laptop on to your Galaxy Pro.

The microSD slot there above the power button, in more or less the same place as it is on other Galaxy phones, like the S Plus here. That’s your lot for now; Galaxy Pro review coming real soon like.
