Wednesday Deals: Samsung Galaxy Ace, Orange Phone Fund and more

It’s Wednesday so we’re bringing you the latest selection of deals on mobile phones, tablets and accessories. This week we’ve got a cracking deal on the Samsung Galaxy Ace, a chance to earn some Tesco points on BlackBerry and HTC phones and some great money-saving deals from Carphone Warehouse and Orange.

Samsung Galaxy Ace – £139 on PAYG

The Samsung Galaxy Ace has been a huge success for Samsung, offering many of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S2, but at a much more affordable price point.
Virgin Mobile is selling the phone for £139 on PAYG. Top up £15 a month and you’ll get 1GB Mobile web and unlimited text, while £10 a month nets you 300 free texts. At £139,  this is great value at around £60 cheaper than we’ve seen elsewhere.

BlackBerry Curve 9300/HTC Wildfire S/Samsung Galaxy Ace – £15.50 a month with 5000 Clubcard points

This trio of mid-range smartphones are available on T-Mobile with 100 mins, 500 texts and 250MB data on a 24-month contract. But what sets this deal apart is that you get 5000 Clubcard points, which equates to £50 in Tesco vouchers, which you can use in-store, or for even better value trade them for Tesco reward vouchers. Every £5 Tesco Vouchers gets you £20 worth of restaurant vouchers to spend at restaurants or £15 gets you a free magazine subscription

This is a great deal if you take advantage of the points, although 250MB may not be enough data for everyone.

Orange Phone Fund

If you’re an Orange customer on PAYG then you need to hear about Phone Fund. Every time you top up your Orange phone by £10, Orange will put £1 towards a fund for a new phone. Top up £20 a month over a year and you’ll accure £48 towards a new phone, which could be used to reduce the price of the – for example – the Orange San Franscisco II from £99 to £51. Alternatively money accrued can be used against airtime credit if you swap from a PAYG to Pay Monthly tariff.

Carphone     Warehouse Buy Back

We’re always looking for ways to save you money on Recombu. Carphone Warehouse has introduced a buy back scheme for mobile phones and tablets.
Trade in the 16GB iPhone 4 and you’ll get £230, the Samsung Galaxy Ace is worth £78 and the Apple iPad 2 £200 – you’ll get just £40 fort BlackBerry PlayBook.
If you’ve got a second-hand phone to sell, you may get more for it on eBay, but this is more convenient and Carphone Warehouse will match any buy-back price.
