A few details have appeared online of the next generation iPad. Apple website iLounge claims to have seen the new iPad at CES and it according to them, it’s very similar to the current iPad 2 with a few cosmetic differences. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference from the back.
The body is slightly thicker – but only by a mm – the main difference seems to be the screen, which he didn’t see. Elsewhere the camera is slightly bigger than the iPad 2 when seen close-up and looks similar to the iPhone 4S’s camera module, 
although there’s no LED flash.
Ports and buttons remain in the same position, meaning backwards compatibility with Apple iPad 2 accessories.
We’re not overly convinced by the authenticity of this hands-on, unfortunately iLounge doesn’t supply any pictures and writer Jeremy Horwitz comments: ‘I’d show you a picture, but there’s honestly nothing to be seen.’
Although he does comment: ‘These changes are so modest that Apple could easily call this device the “iPad 2S” or “iPad 2HD” …Second, I don’t get the impression that what I saw was just manufactured—it actually seemed to be more than half a year old.’
While the new camera and improved screen tie in with our expectations.
In addition Apple Insider is reporting that 250 Apple workers are at CES, including Tom Krazit, head of product marketing. Could any of them be equipped with the new iPad that iLouge saw? We’ll have to wait and see.
