Virgin have announced they’ll be offering a super low-priced £5 per month mobile phone tariff for their existing customers.
Available only until the end of March, customers will keep their existing number and phone, and get a SIM-only contract that includes ‘unlimited’ texts to any phone and ‘unlimited’ minutes to any other Virgin Mobile.
There is also 100 minutes any network minutes included for your non-Virgin mates. (Fair use policy says ‘unlimited’ means 3000 texts and calls of 3000 minutes of Virgin Mobile to Virgin Mobile calls per month. Seems a respectable amount.)
What Virgin are calling their “Super Value” £5 SIM, comes on a 30 day rolling contract- so no lengthy 24 month wait to change your mind.
This seems like a superb deal for people who use their phone as a phone (there’s no data plan)- and if you have several friends with Virgin phones, it only gets better. If you’re spending £10 a month in pay-as-you-go credit, we say this could be worth the switch.
Non-Virgin Media customers can get a similar deal for £10, SIM-only, minus the unlimited free Virgin-to-Virgin calls, and is available through the Virgin Media Mobile website and those physical, real-life stores people like to call shops.
