Amazon to stream Vikings season 3 finale exclusively to UK Prime customers

Middle Ages hack and slash fest Vikings will wrap up its third season exclusively on Prime Instant Video in the UK this Friday.

Amazon’s answer to Game of Thrones sees King Ragnar of Denmark continuing to lay siege to Paris with the aid of his allies and vassals and arrives at a time when regular Android folk can join in the fun on their tablets

Previously, a standalone Prime Instant Video player wasn’t available on tablets like the Nexus 7 – if you wanted to enjoy Amazon shows on the go, you had to buy either a Kindle Fire tablet or an Apple iPad or directly install Amazon’s Shopping app and watch through there.

The end of the latest run of Vikings also comes at a time when newcomer Outlander, a time-travelling drama set in 18th century Scotland hits the shelves alongside a revived Ripper Street and Michael Bay’s pirate vehicle Black Sails

Prime Instant Video costs either £5.99/month or comes included free with a £79/year Amazon Prime membership.

As well as iOS, Android and Kindle tablets, you can also access Prime Instant Video on Fire TV and the Fire TV Stick, Amazon’s Fire Phone plus all of the current and last-gen games consoles.

You can also watch Prime Instant Video content online through Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer. You’ll need to have Microsoft Silverlight installed for Prime Instant Video to work, with the exception of Chrome, which currently requires Adobe Flash Player.

In the meantime, you can check out Amazon’s trailer below for a sneak peak at the Vikings season finale.
