The BBC has won back rights to show the FA Cup after teaming up with BT Sport to bid for the rights.
The two organisations beat off competition from ITV and Sky to secure rights to show matches.
The FA is expected to give details of the new three-year agreement, which will run from the season starting in 2014 through to 2018.
Read Recombu Digital’s guides on how to get Sky Sports and BT SportITV has held rights to show FA Cup matches since 2008, when it won them with Setanta Sports. It then jointly held them with ESPN, but in the last year of the contract, BT bought out the rights held by ESPN.
ITV will continue to show England matches alongside Sky.
The BBC took flack for losing the FA Cup rights and was seen by many as prioritising Formula One at the expense of football.
For BT, this adds the FA Cup to the 38 live Premier League matches it has secured rights to show over the nest year. It also has rights to show games in the Europa League, Scottish Premier League, Bundesliga, Major League Soccer and the Football Conference.
Aviva Premiership rugby, WTA tennis, MotoGP and the Ultimate Fighting Championship will also be shown by BT Sport, which is being offered for free to BT Broadband subscribers.
BT Sport’s opening Premier League match will be Liverpool v Stoke City at lunchtime on Saturday, August 17.
