UPDATE 4/3/13: It looks like the Blinkbox app has been left behind by updates to the Galaxy S3, and can’t currently be downloaded for that device.
Blinkbox has launched an Android app which’ll let you stream movies and TV shows on your Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7.
You can browse on a 3G/4G connection and stream content over WiFi, and if you’re new to Blinkbox you can get a free £5 worth of credit when you sign up and pay £1. The app itself looks great, is nice and responsive and pages scroll smoothly.
We’d like to see the option to download content for later/offline viewing added as a future update and it’s a little annoying that not all the content is available yet.

The description page for the Blinkbox app on Google Play says that “*PLEASE NOTE: Not all titles are available for playback on Android… yet. We’re working as fast as we can to get them in the right format and more are being added all the time.”
We imagine it won’t be long before the entire Blinkbox catalogue is available for your viewing. The good news is that all of Game of Thrones Season One is currently present and correct, so you can wind down on the commute by watching Joffrey getting slapped repeatedly.
We’ve also learned that Blinkbox has done a deal with MGM and Sony Pictures, which will see films such as Skyfall and the other 22 James Bond titles available to watch on-demand. Other classics including Silence of the Lambs, The Magnificent Seven and The Great Escape will also be coming to Blinkbox and will be available to watch from Monday the 19th of February onwards.
