D.A.R.C.I. exotic sniper rifle: Any good for PvP and PvE?

Snipers are much less useful in Destiny 2 and so a bad one is even easier to avoid, especially when it costs 29 Legendary Shards. The D.A.R.C.I. sniper rifle is arguably the worst or second worst weapon the game. Why, though?

The Arc sniper rifle, for starters, lets you view the exact health of an enemy, which may have the odd use but there are much better intrinsic perks out there. The impact level is also low and there is no area of effect damage you get on legendary snipers.

Those who need to complete their collection should buy D.A.R.C.I. but for PvE and PvP you are better off using your exotic weapon slot for something else. It is not exactly a stylish weapon, either.

Cost: 29 Legendary Shards

Destiny 2 exotic: Actium War Rig (Titan chest piece)

The Actium War Rig is a decent option for Titan users who prefer Auto Rifles because the intrinsic perk, ‘Auto-loading Link’, automatically loads four bullets from your reserves per second, reducing the need to reload.

When you factor in the damage per second reduction if you reload, this makes Actium War Rig useful for moments where sustained fire on one target or when there are multiple enemies heading towards you. It can also work in PvP, where reloading can result in you losing a fight.

Cost: 23 Legendary Shards

Destiny 2 exotic: Knucklehead Radar (Hunter helmet)

Knucklehead Radar is useful for PvP because it allows you to aim down the sights of a weapon without losing radar, so you are much less likely to have an enemy sneak up on you.

In PvE it makes little sense because NPCs are more forgiving, plus in PvP the radar will only show up enemies close by, making it useful to certain Hunter setups but there are better exotic armour options out there.

Cost: 23 Legendary Shards

Destiny 2 exotic: Eye of Another World (Warlock helmet)

The Eye of Another World exotic Warlock helmet is one of the most visually interesting exotics in Destiny 2, and luckily it is half-decent, too. The intrinsic perk, Cerebral Uplink, improves the regeneration speed of your grenade, melee and Rift abilities, which means you can use them more often.

In PvE, this is useful because the fights go on long enough to see at least two Rifts. In PvP, however, you may get to a Rift faster but seeing two is an issue. Still, being able to lob a few more grenades and use the likes of Devour more often is a plus.

Cost: 23 Legendary Shards

Destiny 2: How to get exotics without buying them?

By completing events that reward ‘powerful gear’ such as heroic public events (some like Cabal extraction can be done solo) or end-game content such as the Leviathan Raid, Trials of the Nine or weekly Nightfall strike.

Exotics can also drop at the end of a Crucible match or Strike, but this seems to be quite rare as we have only had this happen twice in hundreds of games.

Destiny 2: How do I get more legendary shards?

You can dismantle legendary or exotic weapons or complete the activities mentioned above. Completing the week’s main activities will usually put you in good stead for affording at least one exotic from Xur, but it may be worth saving up in case two items you want turn up at once.

If you are struggling to save up for Xur items, fret not. Progress gets easier in the game once your light level goes above 260 or so as you can more easily complete the tougher Destiny 2 content, which rewards more purple stuff you can dismantle.
