Domino’s Pizza hopes on-demand movies will help it win The Hunger Games

Takeaway pizza provider Domino’s is hoping for a taste of success from an on-demand streaming film service offering new titles as they come out on DVD.

Domino's Pizza Box Office online movie streamingThe producer of The Hunger Games, Lionsgate, is offering a slice of its film catalogue to Domino’s customers ordering their pizza online.

New films like The Hunger Games and What to Expect When You’re Expecting are available at the same time they come out on DVD, alongside a range of older titles such as Scream and Dirty Dancing.

Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director for Domino’s, said: “Everyone knows that pizza and film are a match made in heaven and with our new Domino’s Pizza Box Office, there are even more good reasons to stay in and watch a great movie while you enjoy a piping hot pizza.”

New releases are priced £3.49 each, older films for £2.49, and customers receive a code with their order confirmation email, which they can use to rent a film online.

Films are in DVD-quality standard definition (576i) with stereo audio, and Domino’s has promised to add new titles to the service as they’re released.

Rentals are for 48 hours, and can currently be viewed on a PC, Mac, mobile phone or tablet browser. Customers will need a minimum download speed of 2Mbps.
