BT will broadcast the premiere of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead on Freeview, via the BT Showcase teaser channel.
The horror-drama spin-off of the original The Walking Dead TV series arrives on Monday, August 31 on BT TV and Sky TV. While Freeview viewers won’t be able to munch down the full series, BT is giving would-be customers a taste of things to come, in the hopes that the zombie-filled prequel series will prove as attractive as the lure of live football.
New channel AMC from BT will be the permanent home of Fear the Walking Dead on BT TV (channel 381 in HD and 332 in SD) and Sky TV (channel 192 in SD), provided customers have the BT Sport pack.
BT Showcase can be found on channel 59 of Freeview, YouView and EE TV programme guides.

The president of AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global Bruce Tuchman said: “We’re excited to offer audiences a terrific line-up of exclusive original series and films on AMC as part of our first-ever launch in the UK in partnership with BT.
“Combined with the first window UK premieres of Fear the Walking Dead and Rectify, AMC will offer an unparalleled selection of programming that will appeal to a wide range of adult audiences.”
The UK premiere of Rectify, which follows the story of a man released from death row, will land on Tuesday, September 1. Other shows confirmed for AMC from BT include repeats of recent hits Breaking Bad and Mad Men, Cleaners, a drama about two glamourous contract killers, plus UK TV premieres of Only God Forgives, The Beaver and Shelter.
It’s not been confirmed if any of the other content destined for AMC form BT will make its way to BT Showcase, which until recently looked as though it would only show sports content. BT’s partnership paves the way for more AMC content, including Better Call Saul plus future shows including Preacher and Into The Badlands.
