You may get caked in mud and be bored stiff by aging metallers but at least you’ll be able to tweet about your time at Glastonbury 2014 with free WiFi from EE.
EE has announced that it’s installing three cow-shaped WiFi hotspots throghout the site which will be free for everyone to use, regardless of which network they’re on.
The three fibreglass bovines, psychedelically rendered in the cyan and yellow EE colours, contain 4G MiFi’s in their bodies, allowing you to upload high definition brag clips and photos to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or whichever corner of the web you choose.
The cows have been placed at strategic points around the site at Worthy Farm and have been decorated by festival artist Hank Kruger and his team, who have been painting the steel drum bins around the festival grounds since the 1980s,
Kruger said it is not the first cow he has ever painted, but possibly the most high tech. Kruger said: “We’ve loved bringing these 4G beasts to life and I think they look brilliant. My team and I have even named them: Dolly, Daisy and Molly seemed the perfect fit to me.”
The cows will offer free internet from 10am to 10pm on Thursday to Sunday.
The moo-bile operator has also rolled out contactless payment on the site. Over 100 card readers in 25 main bars will let those with contactless cards pay for drinks and Cash on Tap facilities for EE customers will let you pay for items up to £20 with your mobile phone.
