Humax HDR-1800T brings Freeview+HD recording for £150

Humax has unveiled its latest set-top box: the Freeview HDR-1800T offers access to all Freeview HD channels as well as recording for £149.99.

The HDR-1800T unveils a new look for Humax’s Freeview products and claims to be the firm’s most compact and cost-effective Freeview digital TV recorder to date.

Viewers can watch and record over 50 Freeview channels and access all of the high definition channels from BBC, ITV and Channel 4.

Graham North, Commercial Director of Humax, said: “The new style and compact size of the Humax Freeview HDR-1800T makes this new set-top box a discreet yet powerful addition to the living room.”

“It’s ideal for those cost-conscious consumers looking for fantastic HD content and recording abilities, all at an affordable price point.”

The HDR-1800T sports twin tuners and a built-in 320GB hard drive that can store up to 200 hours of standard definition programmes and 80 hours in HD.

It can also connect to a home network and stream photos and videos to a connected TV from a PC or laptop. Viewers can also access BBC iPlayer and YouTube through the Humax TV Portal when the box is connected to a broadband network.

As well as subscription-free television and radio, the HDR-1800T allows access to the new subscription streaming service, VuTV, which will become available on the  in late summer to offer additional channels including Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.

The Humax Freeview HDR-1800T will be available to buy from retailers including John Lewis, Tesco, Currys PC World, Argos, Euronics and a range of independent retailers.
