Lovefilm will be streaming a pilot of a new kids’ show Sara Solves It in the UK. Developed by Amazon Studios, it is the first of 12 pilots from the online shopping giant’s creative arm and the first one to be streamed in the UK.
Sara Solves It is a mathematics-based show aimed at children and parents and represents a foray into original content which rival Netflix has moved aggressively into.
The show will follow Sara and her brother Sam as they solve maths problems and is the brainchild of Carol Greenwald and Angela Santomero. These two are the creative talents behind Curious George and Blue’s Clues, giving us an idea of what to expect.
“We are excited to be part of Amazon Studios’ innovative approach of getting high-quality programming directly into the hands of parents and children,” says Greenwald who is executive producer for the show.
A quick look at the Amazon Studios submission guides shows that the pilot episode will be 11-22 minutes long.
So far, the only other things we know about the show is that it’s been given the go-ahead from Amazon Studios. There’s no telling exactly when the show will be available on Lovefilm UK just yet.
Other shows on the development slate at Amazon Studios includes The Onion Presents: The News, which promises some sharp satire hard hitting news at its finest, teacher-based comedy Those Who Can’t and the geniusly-titled kids cartoon Buck Plaidsheep.
