Manchester conference centre Kings House is now enjoying speeds of 30Mbps thanks to ISP Metronet (UK).
Using a £3,000 grant from the government’s Super Connected Cities voucher scheme, Metronet (UK) was able to upgrade the old connection, which provided average speeds of 4Mbps.
Metronet (UK) is offering superfast services to businesses in Manchester and Salford using money from a fund designed to improve availability of superfast services.

The trial phase ended in September and the government is now looking at the results, with a view to rolling it out to a total of 22 cities.
Elliott Mueller, CEO at Metronet (UK) says; “We have seen the voucher scheme make a real difference to charities, startups and more established businesses alike who would not ordinarily have been able to afford high speed Internet services.”
Metronet (UK) has over 1,000 customers across the Manchester region benefitting from its wireless broadband and fibre services.
The £150 million Urban Broadband Fund will also fund the rollout of free public WiFi in the UK’s biggest cities as well as giving businesses grants of up to £3,000 to spend on faster broadband connections.
