Netflix customers with a BT Sport Ultra HD subscription can now stream the likes of Narcos and Jessica Jones in 4K.
Back when BT took the wraps of its Ultra HD TV service, which lets customers watch live sports including Premier League football and MotoGP races in 4K, we were quick to ask when customers would be able to enjoy Netflix’s next-gen HD content through the same box.
Since last November, BT TV has given customers the option of adding a Netflix subscription to their BT TV and BT Broadband bill. Now folks can sign up for the £8.99/month Netflix Premium service – required to access Ultra HD streams, in the same way.

“Our Ultra HD package will enhance the experience and provide unmissable content at great value, including must-see new Netflix shows like Narcos, and original series like Orange Is The New Black available, alongside live action from the Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League and Europa League.”
Alternatively, if you’re already a Netflix customer then you can just sign in to the BT-branded Humax DTR-T4000 as you would with any other Netflix app.
As well as being the first UK broadcaster to launch an Ultra HD TV service, BT TV has become the first pay TV package to offer 4K Netflix content.
Broadband and pay TV rival Sky recently took the wraps off of its forthcoming TV platform Sky Q, which promises 4K content including Sky Sports and Sky Movies. While Sky Q due to arrive at some point in ‘early 2016’, 4K content won’t be arriving until later in the year.
The BT TV Total Entertainment package costs £15/month and gives you access to the BT Sport Ultra HD channel. You’re required to take a BT Infinity FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) service with this, which BT says is now available to over 80 per cent of UK premises, and starts at £10/month plus £17.99/month for line rental.
