New Now TV Box hitting shelves this week

Now TV’s next-gen mini streamer will be available to order directly from the Now TV site this week.

Costing £14.99, the new-look Now TV Box boasts a sleeker, rounder design, more in keeping with its Roku stablemates than the previous white and blue Now TV Box and a processor that’s five times faster than the original. There’s also an Ethernet port, distinguishing it again from its WiFi-only predecessor.

You’ll be able to order yours online from Thursday, August 6 onwards or pick one up from high street retailer Argos on Friday 7.

Changes to the user interface will also be rolled out, borrowing the current design language of the Now TV desktop site.

Now TV is a streaming service aimed at customers who want to stream Sky TV content but can’t get (or don’t want) satellite or cable TV.

The new hardware arrives days after Now TV launched a new monthly pass for Sky Sports. This sees you getting access to live streams of content from all Sky Sports channels for £31.99/month, making it one of the best ways to watch Premier League football this season.

Previously, sports fans only had the option of buying a 24 hour pass for £6.99 or a weekly pass for £10.99. Now TV has also just launched a new promo for its Entertainment Pass – normally £6.99/month – which sees new customers able to get the service for just £1 until September 27.

You can also buy monthly Sky Movies passes from Now TV which cost £9.99 and give you all 11 Sky Movies channels plus catch-up content. As well as access to Sky content, the Now TV Box also gives you access to services like BBC iPlayer, All 4, ITV Player and Demand 5.
