Now TV’s mobile apps are compatible with the vast majority of iOS and Android phones and tablets.

All devices running iOS 6 or later are supported, as are iPhones going all the way back to the 3GS. Every iPad, with the exception of the first generation, can run Now TV as can all iPod Touches from 4th generation and onwards. You can download Now TV for iOS from the iTunes App Store now.

Now TV review: Premium Sky content for non-premium pricesGiven the huge number of Android devices out there, it’s a tall order for Now TV to publish a full list of officially supported devices.

That said, Now TV says that any device that runs 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or above, has 1GB of RAM, a processor that’s at least 1GHz fast and a screen with a resolution of at least 480×800 (WVGA) will, in theory be able to install and run the Now TV app from Google Play. Phones and tablets with eye tracking should also turn this feature off in the settings when watching Now TV.

While Now TV doesn’t keep an exhaustive list of Android devices that work with it, we’re able to confirm that it works on the following:

  • BlackBerry Priv
  • Huawei Nexus 6P
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4
  • Samsung Galaxy S5
  • Samsung Galaxy S6

Can I get Now TV on Windows Phone devices and Surface tablets?

There’s no official Now TV app available for Window Phone, but there is a Now TV app for Windows 10, which means you’ll be able to install this on Microsoft’s Surface RT, Surface 2, Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4 tablets

So far we’ve been unable to confirm whether or not Continuum, a feature of Windows 10 that can turn Lumia phones into desktops, will let you run the Now TV app via phones like the Lumia 950

Can I get Now TV on BlackBerry 10 devices?

There’s no official Now TV app for phones running BlackBerry 10, if you’re able to find a reliable .apk file, in theory there’s no reason why you won’t be able to sideload this on a BlackBerry 10 device and get it working.

In practice, we’re not able to say as we’ve yet to test this out ourselves. That said we’ve been able to successfully get Netflix working on BlackBerry 10 phones using this method, which we explain in detail here

Can I get Now TV on Virgin Media TiVo?

While you can get Netflix, Spotify, YouTube and other streaming services through Virgin Media TiVo set-top boxes, you currently can’t access Now TV. Due to the presence of Sky Movies, Sky Sports and Sky entertainment channels on Virgin’s TV platform, it’s highly unlikely that this will ever change.

That said, if you’ve got a Virgin Media broadband and TV bundle, there’s nothing stopping you from getting a Now TV Box and hooking that up to your TV.

Can I get Now TV on Freeview, Freesat or YouView?

There are currently no Freeview or Freesat set-top boxes that come with access to Now TV apps.

Humax has recently inked a deal with Netflix, which will see buyers of Humax-branded Freetime from Freesat and Freeview Play hardware able to access that service, so there’s a possibility that this deal will pave the way for Now TV and other streaming services to come to Freeview and Freesat devices.

While there is a Now TV player available on YouView set-top boxes, because of rights restrictions, you’re only able to watch movies that are also available on a live channel. In other words, you can’t access on-demand titles unless they’re being broadcast on a movies channel. Not only that, Now TV Entertainment or Sports passes can’t be used on YouView either.

What other devices and platforms are supported by Now TV?

You can also watch Now TV content online through Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari – but not Chrome, as Now TV requires Microsoft Silverlight to run and as of April 2016, Chrome no longer works with Silverlight.

You can access Now TV content on Apple TV devices, but you are currently unable to use weekly or monthly Sports passes to stream games. Daily passes however are fine.
