Streaming service Now TV is now accessible on Windows 8.1 laptops and PCs.
Sky’s on-demand service for non-Sky TV customers, adds Windows support just in time for the Christmas viewing season, which serve up favourites including Elf and Home Alone alongside newbies like The Lego Movie and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Now TV lets you stream content from Sky’s Entertainment channels including Sky 1, Sky Atlantic and Sky Living as well as the premium Sky Sports and Sky Movies.
Gidon Katz, Director of Now TV, said: “We’re excited to launch on Windows 8.1, giving customers yet another platform to watch Now TV this Christmas, whether that’s watching the latest Christmas movies like Disney’s Frozen, festive favourites like Elf and Home Alone, or starting a new box set such as the complete series of Mad Men.”
Other box sets available to stream over Christmas includes season 1 of True Detective which from December 12 onwards, An Idiot Abroad (series 1-3) plus series 1 of fantasy epic Game of Thrones. Sky and Now TV will also be showing every episode of Game of Thrones over the Christmas period.
The available box set and on-demand content varies depending on which pass you’ve signed up for. The Entertainment pass costs £6.99/month while Movies, which gives you all 11 Sky Movies channels plus hundreds of films on demand, costs £9.99/month.
The Sky Sports pass currently costs either £11.99/week or £6.99/day. Prices for the sports pass were set to go up last month, but Sky has extended the discount period to March 2015.
Now TV available to watch on a range of devices including Windows 7 PCs and laptops, Mac OS, iOS, Android, selected smart TVs, Chromecast, Apple TV and the Roku-based Now TV Box.
