Philips Hue lights change moods with Goldee app

Philips Hue owners can now make their smart lights change colour with dynamic scenes powered by the Goldee app.

The free third-party app takes control of your Hue lights with a library of 10 scenes which change colours, aiming to recreate natural lighting.

Goldee also provides a sunrise alarm to wake you up gently, a sleep timer for the other end of the day, and different room settings.

Read Recombu Digital’s guides to Smart Lighting and the Smart HomeGoldee (also the developer’s name) said: “In nature, light has never been static. It was only with the invention of the light bulb that the light in our homes became static.

“Goldee brings a little bit of nature back to your home with dynamic light scenes that provide an ever-changing interplay of colors.”

It’s currently available for iOS only, and Goldenfish Lighting says the lighting library is set to expand to hundreds of scenes, as well as allowing users to develop their own.

Philips has recently expanded the Hue range from the original chunky bulbs to include table lamps and flexible LED strips, as well as dedicated children’s lamps based on Disney characters.
