Roku owners can now add a couple more channels to their arsenal; CinemaNow and Red Bull TV.
You should take note of CinemaNow if you’ve bought a stack of Blu-rays that come with UltraViolet codes, because like Blinkbox does, CinemaNow supports UV-playback on selected titles in its library.
As CinemaNow – the streaming service formerly known as KnowHow Movies – is supported on iOS, Android and LG and Samsung smart TVs, it gives you the option to access a digital copy of your purchases wherever you are.
Other than that, it operates much in the same way that Blinkbox does, giving punters the option to buy or rent titles like House of Cards (first two seasons) Breaking Bad, Doctor Who and Sherlock, although there’s no option to pay a monthly fee and binge watch as much as you want.
Red Bull TV, which also works with Chromecast, offers a world of extreme (and not-so-extreme) sports events and lifestyle shows, including the ever-popular Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour, with the world’s best freestyle motocross riders and the UCI MTB World Cup; which will be ideal if you’re keen to keep up with the exploits current world champ, Britain’s own Josh ‘Ratboy’ Bryceland.
Fans of snowboarding will be similarly well catered-for. The channel will launch its service on Roku’s hardware with the Red Bull Double Pipe event. The event, which sees two competition-level halfpipes constructed side-by-side, with rails, channels and more, as well as two skilled riders styling it out back-to-back, will begin broadcasting live from 7:30PM GMT on March 12th.

Other apps available to Roku owners include Netflix, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, 4oD, Sky Sports, ITV Player, Now TV, Demand 5 and more.
